What We Do — Community Diaper Bank
Conejo Community Outreach is a 100% volunteer-run 501c3 nonprofit which operates a Community Diaper Bank that supports families in Ventura County with free monthly supplemental packages of diapers and wipes.
It is through the generosity of community supporters and local businesses, that we are able to distribute an average of 20,000 diapers each month, with plans to increase our monthly output by 5,000 diapers in 2025.
Since our Community Diaper Bank launch in 2018, we have provided nearly 1.4 million diapers (double that in wipes) to families in Ventura County.

Get Help from the Diaper Bank
Due to the high demand for diaper support in our county, we currently have a WAIT LIST for families seeking diaper support. As current clients are cycled out, or as we receive additional grant funding, we will notify those on our waitlist if and when they are eligible to receive monthly support.

Providing a Solution to a Community Need:
Helping to eliminate the diaper gap!
- Diaper insecurity is a leading cause of poor mental health among parents. (Source: The Atlantic). Further, lack of access to clean, fresh, well-fitting diapers impacts the health and hygiene of children.
- There is limited federal assistance for diapers. Financially vulnerable families cannot use WIC or SNAP for diapers. While TANF can be used for diapers, a limited number of families receive TANF assistance and it is not a sufficient amount to cover both bills/utilities and diapers.
- The Conejo Community Outreach Diaper Bank helps eliminate the diaper gap for families in Ventura County and supports the mental and physical health and hygiene for those supported by the diaper bank.

A Community Nonprofit You Can Trust
In September 2023, Supervisor Jeff Gorell worked with County of Ventura CEO Sevet Johnson to identify grant funding for our diaper bank. The Ventura County Board of Supervisors voted to award CCO with $10,000 of funding each year for four years (2023-2026.)
We are so grateful to the board of supervisors for unanimously supporting this funding (including Supervisors Vianey Lopez, Matt LaVere, Janice Parvin, Kelly Long). A special thank you to Supervisor Gorell, Mark Perryman and Dale Thomas, who put a lot of work into presenting this to the board and advocating on behalf of vulnerable families in our community. |
Conejo Community Outreach was honored to receive the "Nonprofit of the Year" award from the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce on May 20, 2022.
At the recognition gala, the Chamber also granted CCO $2,500 from its foundation as part of the ceremony. We are grateful to the Chamber for its support of the diaper bank and local nonprofits in our community. |
Community Partnerships
Did you know that we are a Food Share of Ventura County distribution partner? As a vetted and trusted nonprofit partner, we are thrilled to share that the partnership has reached new heights in late 2024.
In 2024, Food Share joined the California Association of Diaper Banks, working to raise awareness and tackle diaper needs across 11 counties. Thanks to the CA State Diaper Program and collective advocacy efforts, Food Share received funding to purchase diapers and wipes for infants in Ventura County. As a key agency partner for diaper distribution, CCO now receives 2 pallets of diapers and wipes each month to help support our client base with monthly packages of diapers and wipes.
