Have you heard about Conejo Community Outreach's Community Closet?

Our Community Closet was officially launched in September 2016 as a free resource that provides basic necessities for local individuals and families in need. We stock in our Closet items such as gently used baby and toddler clothing, maternity wear, work attire, coats and jackets, and baby items such as bottles, blankets, diapers, wipes and beyond, thanks to the generous donations from our community.

The way the Closet generally works is that interested families or individuals who would like access to the Closet are asked to submit a simple screening form. With the information provided, board members then go to our storage units where our inventory is stored, put together personalized bags based on need, and arrange for pick-up.

This year, we've decided to implement a few OPEN CLOSET DAYS that will allow those in need the opportunity to come and browse all of our Closet inventory. We will be transferring our inventory to a private room hosted at Tang Soo Do University for these events, where pre-registered individuals and families can enter and spend time collecting some much needed items.

WHEN IS OUR OPEN CLOSET DAY?

Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

WHERE IS OUR OPEN CLOSET DAY?

Tang Soo Do University in Newbury Park
300-F Giant Oak Avenue (located BEHIND Cronies Sports Bar and Grill

WHO CAN PRE-REGISTER AND WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Our Open Closet Day is open to all local individuals and families who are in need (for whatever reason). If this would make a difference for you, we'd like to hear more about your needs and how we can help. Please pre-register by Feb. 1, 2017.

WHY SHOULD I PRE-REGISTER?

By pre-registering, you're giving the board members ample time to obtain additional donations to meet your specific needs if we don't currently have Closet inventory that would be a fit.

HOW CAN I PRE-REGISTER*?

You can pre-regsister by filling out the simple form below.
*Please allow us one week to respond.
**Please note that we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accomodate all specifc requests.

This form is also available on our Open Closet Page.

I WANT TO VOLUNTEER FOR THIS EVENT. HOW?

We will need volunteers to help in the morning with set-up, to provide assistance during the Open Closet Day hours, and to help with break-down and cleanup. This is a great opportunity for kids as well. You can EMAIL US ([email protected]) if you're interested in volunteering and we will coordinate your availability.

I WANT TO DONATE. WHAT DO YOU ACCEPT?

Baby items: Diapers (all quantities and sizes), baby wipes, baby bottles, blankets, bibs, mittens, booties, beanies, socks and formula (unexpired and unopened, all quantities).
Maternity wear
Breastfeeding accessories
